Portugal

My first weekend in Spain, I decided to go to Portugal for 2 days.  We went to Lagos and Portimao, both of which are beautiful beach towns on the Costa d'Oiro in southern Portugal.  In Lagos, we visited Ponta da Piedade, which is a famous area known for its magnificent and mysterious cliffs.  It was my first trip to Portugal, and it was breathtaking.  The beaches are beautiful, the water is crystal clear, and the rock formations are amazing.  There are secluded bays, and the area is full of hidden caves -- I loved it and can't wait to go back.

Mi Casa

So this is it -- my launching pad for the next several months.  Number 4B at Calle Virgen de la Cinta, 56.  The photo at the top is obviously the name of my street, and this is my cozy little room.  I am happy to say that I have not yet closed my bedroom window since I arrived -- the weather has been beautiful!  I live in Los Remedios, which is a great neighborhood full of shops, markets, restaurants, and bars.  You know you are in Los Remedios if the name of the street begins with 'Virgen' -- so I guess I am in good hands. :)  There is a beautiful park at the end of my street, and I am thrilled that I have somewhere close to run.  The apartment is typically Spanish, which means nothing is new, but that's why you love it.  I can walk almost anywhere in Sevilla from my apartment, and I love seeing the city on foot.  Lo amo aquí.
