I wanted to start a list of things in Spain/Europe that I love, or make me laugh, or both. So here goes:
1. Siestas - enough said.
2. Cruzcampo - the only beer on tap in 99% of Sevilla bars. Delicious.
3. Greeting people with a kiss on each cheek.
4. El Catedral de Sevilla - gothic architecture, and simply breathtaking.
5. Tinto de verano - sort of like a simple version of sangria: red wine and orange/lemon soda. Or even better - tinto con blanca: red wine and soda water.
6. Beer vending machines - yes, they really exist.
7. Andalucian pronunciation - so 'gracias' is really 'grathiaaa'.
8. European napkins - can you really call them napkins?
9. Being asked if I'm friends with Hannah Montana - since I am from the USA afterall...
10. The number of 'papelerias' in Sevilla - how many paper stores can you need in one city?
11. Churros con chocolate - a truly Spanish treat!
12. Clara - beer and lemon soda. Sounds weird, but is actually really refreshing.
13. Sevici - free bikes all around Sevilla. A fabulous concept!
14. Semana Santa - pasos and all.
15. Dancing Sevillanas in the Feria.
16. Wearing a flamenco dress with a flower in my hair.
17. Rebujito.
18. Azahar - the smell of orange blossoms. Even more, I love that they have a word specifically for the smell of orange blossoms.
I am amazed!
